'Caprica' (1.3) “Reins of a Waterfall” – Review
Thu, 02/18/2010 - 09:58 — Karyn Methven
A poopstorm has occurred with Amanda’s revelation of Zoe’s actions. Daniel gets a beat on from the Adama brothers and Joseph demands to be reunited with the avatar Tamara. Seems Joseph has had a rethink on the avatar, but Daniel tells him that the avatar is lost. Joseph doesn’t care and beats on Daniel as a message to get with the program.
Zoe meanwhile is trying to deal with life in a cylon. She contacts Lacy to ask her to get her to Gemenon, but Lacy is worried that a cylon is a big thing to transport and a bit obvious. Plus, Lacy has been getting a lot of attention from Clarice Willow, which is skeeving her out. Lacy is not cut out for terrorist activity.
The girls decide to meet in the virtual world, and lo and behold they meet up with Tamara. They head to the virtual club, but Tamara isn’t comfortable with the scene. She goes off into the netherworld of virtual reality while the girls are left behind.
The Fathers
Back at the Global Defence Department Agents Duram and Youngblood are trying to figure out who is behind the bombing and avoid a poopfest in the process. It seems that they had the bomber in their custody, but it was for a curfew violation, and they let him go. They manage to hide that fact, and continue their hunt for the baddies.
Tamara needs to get a grip. She could be with dear old Dad, but instead floats into the netherworld of the virtual reality. Her Dad is a piece of work, too. Joseph could learn a few things about being a decent human being. Hint, Daniel really doesn’t have your daughter’s avatar.
Amanda really shot herself in the foot this time. Sure, she was going with the flow, but that flow was public. Bad Amanda! Bad, bad girl. You’ve gone and caused your hubby some serious problems, and now he has to fix them.
Will Zoe seriously be wearing that dress forever? Not saying it isn’t nice, but you CAN change virtual clothes ya know. I’d pick jeans and a t-shirt, but that’s just me. Zoe also needs to have a serious reality check, because the woman is ensconced in a cylon body! What the frak is she thinking? Take me to Gemenon, puh-leeze. Someone hasn’t had their meds today. Lucy is a saint, humouring her sad ass.
I kinda hope that those cops don’t get their way. I like religious diversity. Just saying, it is a good idea to respect ideas that are different. It can help you understand the person you are talking to.
Overall, I had to watch this episode twice to remember what the heck it was about. That’s a sad statement of affairs, people.
