'Dead Rising' Kills Lawsuits Like Zombies

I don't think any true horror fan once thought for a second that the premise of Dead Rising - zombies invade a mall - was original since it completely stole the idea from Dawn of the Dead. The comparisson didn't hurt the game, however, as it was still a fantastic games and still remains one of my favorite Xbox 360 offerings. A lawsuit was still filed because of supposed copyright infringments, but the judge on the case has thrown the lawsuit out and rightfully so.

Which Games Should Capcom Bring Back?

Capcom certainly is a crafty bunch, trying to pass a simple question off as nothing more than a regular blog post. In reality, however, you know this is a clever marketing scheme to find out just what game fans are clamoring for and then eventually deliver on it to make a ton of money. Mwahahaha! Following along the lines of their recent Mega Man and Bionic Commando remakes/revisits, Capcom wants to know what game you'd like to see next from them. Go make your voice heard because chances are good it will really happen if enough people want it.

Is 'LittleBigPlanet' Ripping Off Contest Participants?

Oh LittleBigPlanet, you have such creative artists behind the scenes, as you're always coming out with new costumes for people to dress their Sackboy up with. As it turns out they might not be as creative as many think, as some fans are rising up and getting angry, stating that some of the costumes coming out are based on ideas that were submitted for a Sackboy costume competition, but these people aren't being acknowledged or paid for their work.

    'World of Warcraft' Invades News

It's a slow news day, but that's fine by me, because I'm desperately working as fast as I can so I can jump in and play the LOTRO Moria expansion. The only news today is of the World of Warcraft variety, which includes the story of a boy suffering from a seizure for playing the World of Warcraft expansion for too long, and the news that the expansion's raids have already been defeated.

New 'Banjo Kazooie' Spoils Upcoming Rare Sequels?

I don't know if this is a joke or not, but if this isn't true, Rare is just being plain cruel and evil! In Rare's latest release - Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts - there is a character you can talk to that says Rare is working on a new Killer Instincts, Battletoads, and Jet Force Gemini. I never played JFG, but Killer Instinct was my favorite fighter back in the day - hello Orchid finishing flash - and Battletoads was one of the most difficult games I ever played (and never beat it might I add).

First Player Reaches Level 80 In 'World of Warcraft'

World of Warcraft's Wrath of the Lich King was just released recently, and already the game has its first 80 level player - Nymh. I'm shocked that he could muster through the ten new levels so quickly, but probably only because when it comes to the MMO I play - LOTRO - it takes me forever to level. I don't know if I'm just slow or suck! So congrats Nymh on your news breaking record run...your fifteen-minutes start now.

'Dissidia' Trailer Is 'Final Fantasy' Fan Heaven

What do you get when you take many of the fan favorite Final Fantasy characters throughout the series' long history and pit them in otaku orgasmic fights to the death? You get Dissidia, which has released a trailer, which is eight different kinds of awesome. Whether you love Cloud, Squall, Tidus, Terra, Kefka, or any of the other famous heroes and villains through the series' history, chances are they'll be in this game. Here is the trailer:

'Gears of Wars 2' (Xbox 360) – Review

Gears of War 2 is like running across an old friend. You might not remember every little detail about them right away, but with enough time memories come flooding back, and soon you're yelling Cole Train at your TV as loud as you can. Gears of War 2 is a great single-player game and co-op experience, but when it comes to the multiplayer you'd be better off taking a chainsaw to it (at least when it comes to Epic's matchmaking system).

'Wheel of Time' Games and Movies In The Works

The Wheel of Time series is a long-running and best-selling series of books, which have are eleven strong, with a possible posthumous death twelfth volume to be released in 2009. As with any popular fantasy series, it's not surprising that a series of movies is being planned, but interestingly enough a series of games may be in the works, including a possible MMO release.

'Chrono Trigger' DS Release Gets A New Ending

Chrono Trigger is one of my fondest gaming memories as well as one of my favorite games of all-time. The game could've been brought to the DS without a single change and I'd still have bought it, but luckily for fans new content is indeed being added, such as a new dungeon and monster battling system. Today comes news and screens that reveal the game will also have a new ending too! I never got all the endings, but to date Chrono Trigger is the only game I've purposely gone out of my way to play in order to experience more than one ending.

Copyright Issues Affect 'LittleBigPlanet' & 'Guitar Hero World Tour'

Let's face it - people for the most part aren't very creative. It's just easier to copy someone else than do something truly creative. So imagine my non-surprise that LittleBigPlanet and Guitar Hero World Tour are featuring a bunch of copyright themed levels, such as Pac-Man and Tetris on the LBP front, and a bunch of videogame melodies realized in Guitar Hero. The problem is, however, that many of these are infringing on copyright issues, and so both LittleBigPlanet and Guitar Hero World Tour are removing these types of levels.

    Ubisoft Cancels 'Heroes' Game

Heroes has been having a rough time for a while now, culminating in even more bad news for the once highly popular series. Coming on the heels of the news that the show just fired two executive producers, Ubisoft has pulled their plans and canceled the proposed Heroes videogame they were working on. My how the mighty have fallen. Hopefully the show can patch itself up and stop the hemorrhaging before things get even worse, such as cancellation.

Killer Robots To Invade 'World of Warcraft'...Maybe

Have scientists learned nothing from sci-fi films? You've got Terminators that walk among us in an attempt to kill future resistance leaders and even The Matrix shows what can happen when you give computers a too advanced AI - they freaking revolt and enslave humanity! Oh well, remember this day well then when we're all slaves to the machine, as the American Army is going to unleash their computer AI in MMORPGs such as World of Warcraft and EVE Online to see if they do well enough to pass as human.

    'Fallout 3' (Xbox 360) – Review

It's hard to call Fallout 3 just an RPG. Players still roam around, grab quests, and level up after they've gained enough experience, but it's so much more about the experience and downtime rather than the linear goal that drives you forward. You see, Fallout 3 isn't just an RPG, but rather a life simulator of what it must be like if the world actually did suffer an apocalypse. I've too often found myself slowly shuffling towards a nearby city, my bag packed with so many items I can't run anymore, and a crippled leg holding me back. It's not an easy way of life outside the Vault, having to survive fights with mutants and scrounging all the items I can. I walk towards the salvation of a walled city and must remind myself it's just a game, because if I don't the bleakness starts to eat away at me and I feel the sense of hopelessness that surely plagues the citizens of this new world. It's hard not to be moved by the game. Throughout it all, however, it's still a phenomenal achievement as both an excellent game and benchmark in the history of gaming.
