Atari Grabs Rights To 'The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena'

Okay, I make no bones about it, but I'm a big fan of Riddick. Pitch Black was great, Chronicles of Riddick was good sci-fi fun too, and Escape From Butcher Bay was a great game. I love any news I can get about the franchise, so until I hear definitive news about more films, I take delight in knowing that the recently cancelled game - The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena - has just been picked up by Atari.

'Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway' (Xbox 360) – Review

It's always a treat whenever a news Brothers In Arms game comes out, as I've come to find out that it's one of the only videogame franchises out there that I actually feel emotionally invested in. I didn't even know this myself until sitting down to play Hell's Highway, and suddenly all the good times spent playing the first two games came back to me, and the emotional weight of the plight of Sgt. Baker and the rest of the 101st Airborne hit me full on.

PS3 Owners Get First Look At 'Bioshock' Sequel Trailer

It's taken a long time, but finally PS3 owners will soon get to play the hit Xb0x 360 game - Bioshock - all for themselves. PS3 players who beat the game will also get treated to what looks to be the first trailer for the sequel - Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams. It's hard to make anything out about what the game might be about, but it does look like the Little Sisters have grown a bit. View the trailer below.

'Call of Duty: World at War' Collector's Edition Announced

Surprise! This marks the second collector's edition version of a game announced today, this time coming from the people bringing you Call of Duty: World at War. I think the Call of Duty is one of the best FPS franchises on the market today, but for the $80 price tag, the only thing that interests me is the metal tin and canteen. Hardcore multiplayers, however, might enjoy the extra week's worth of double-XP and early access to a high-level weapon.

PS3 'Bioshock' Will Have A Required Install

PS3 players have waited a long time in order to finally get to play Bioshock after many rumors and denials, but the end is almost in view. Once you get the game, however, you'll have to wait just a little bit longer - like ten minutes in order to perform the 5GB system install in order to play the game. It shouldn't be a huge problem as long as your system isn't filled with content.

'Project Origin' Gets A 'FEAR' Inspired Name Change

Great, now I'm going to have to change the site's database to reflect this change. Argh! Monolith - the original creators of FEAR - lost the rights to their game's name a while back, subsequently holding a game naming contest to find what the only official sequel to FEAR would be called. Since then, however, Monolith just received the FEAR name back, but don't want to throw away the help of the FEAR community. So today Project Origin is now officially FEAR 2: Project Origin.

Names aside, the game looked great at E3.

'Far Cry 2' Pre-order Gets Exclusive Missions

I don't have the problems with GameStop stores that many gamers seem to have. Part of the reason I do my shopping at GameStop is because of exclusives like the Far Cry 2 pre-order, which will net you exclusive missions that will be roughly three hours in length. Three extra hours of game time for just pre-ordering...doesn't sound too shabby.

    'Bioshock' Exclusives Potentially Less Exclusive

I enjoyed everything about Bioshock, except for the actual gameplay. Being unable to die completely hampered the game, making it so half the game I fought with nothing more than a wrench. I still enjoy the game, however, and news of PS3 rumored exclusive content - like a new zoo area, opening cinema, and improved graphics - makes me hope it'll transfer to the 360 after a set time limit - and then maybe I'll be inclined to replay the game.

Will 'Left 4 Dead' Box Art Change?

I liked the original box art for Left 4 Dead, which had a hand with a missing thumb front and center on the box. However, apparently fans with way too much time on their hands, thought a better pun would be to have the hand on the box be a left-handed one. Get it? Left (hand) 4 (fingers) Dead (zombie hand on box).

Hey, what do you want from me? It's a slow news day.

Those who pre-purchase the game via Steam before it is launched in late September will immediately receive the complete version of Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 free of charge.

    'Left 4 Dead' On Tour

Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Half-Life and Counter-Strike) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced a series of live demonstrations of Left 4 Dead at upcoming industry events the world over.

Left 4 Dead is the new survival co-op action game from Valve that blends the social entertainment experience of multiplayer games such as Counter-Strike and Team Fortress with the dramatic, narrative experience made popular in single player action game classics such as the Half-Life series of games.

    E3 2008 Preview: 'Project Origin' (Xbox 360)

One of the best first-person shooters I've played of recent is FEAR. I was so enamored with the bullet-time gunplay and supernatural horror story that I went out and bought the expansion pack set for the 360 as soon as it came out. So imagine my thrill when at this year's E3 I got to checkout Monolith's sequel – Project Origin. With more open environments and tons of gun fighting action, Project Origin is set to be the true sequel every FEAR fan has been waiting for all this time.

    E3 2008 Preview: 'Left 4 Dead' (PC)

Before Left 4 Dead came along, I would've never thought it was possible to be in the same room with three other people and yet still feel so very alone and scared. Though there have been a number of horrifying FPS and survival horror games over the past years, Left 4 Dead is the first one to actually make me "feel" as if I was really transported into the game, living out the actions of my character. You can chalk part of that up to the atmosphere and immersion level, but part of it also comes from the frantic gunfights and team cooperation gameplay. Left 4 Dead – proof that running zombies are always more frightening.

'Left 4 Dead' Box Art Revealed

I saw Left 4 Dead at E3 (preview coming shortly) and it was easily one of my favorite games of the show. Today the box art for the game is being revealed, and it's both subtle and yet shocking at the same time. Good work!
