Rodriguez Chooses Nimrod Antal To Helm 'Predator' Film
Thu, 07/02/2009 - 08:37 — Jason Van Horn
Robert Rodriguez - who will be producing a new Predator film - has finally handpicked his director after many rumors: Nimrod Antal. So why did Rodriguez ultimately pick Antal to helm the film?
"First of all, on a personal level I found him to be an outstanding presence, a great communicator full of ideas, and upon meeting him you can immediately understand how he is able to wrangle cast and crew and get the best out of everyone. I always loved Kontroll, where he proved himself to be a very resourceful and original filmmaker. When I saw Armored, I could tell he's also great with action and has a keen eye for casting. He reminded me of Quentin with how he was able to work with a group of very strong, singular actor talents and make it look effortless. I know he'll be able to get the most out of what we want to be an outstanding cast. We really want to go with a character driven action movie, because that's what we all remember about the original Predator, and we want to take it even further with this."

Neil Marshall - whose directing credits include The Descent, Doomsday, and Dog Soldiers - is rumored to be close to signing with 20th Century Fox to helm the Robert Rodriguez produced remake/prequel Predator film.
I actually think that's a pretty good choice, as The Descent was a great horror film.

Will Arnold Battle A 'Predator' Once Again?
Tue, 09/23/2008 - 09:41 — Jason Van Horn
The Predators have been in the movie business for a while now, but rarely have they been in a good movie. The first Predator was excellent and the first AvP movie was fun, but when it came to the sequels, I'm of the personal opinion they both blew. Collider.com now has up an interview with movie producer John Davis, who has the Predator listed as one of his first movies. Based on what he says in the interview, Arnold could be heading back to movies once his term is over if he decides not to go into politics further, and a return to the Predator franchise might be in the works for him.
