'Left 4 Dead 2' Wishes You A Merry Christmas

Okay, so Christmas has come and gone, but I just found this video this morning, and it seems relevant to me since I just got Left 4 Dead 2 for Christmas. So, here is Left 4 Dead 2's fictional band - The Midnight Riders - doing what they do best...rocking!!!

First 'Left 4 Dead 2' DLC Announced

Many thought the first Left 4 Dead 2 DLC would be about the fictional rock band used in the game, but instead the first DLC will instead focus on L4D2's heroes meeting up with the original cast from L4D. The DLC will be called The Passing and "see our intrepid Survivors arriving in Georgia for a new campaign set just after the events of "Dead Center."

"In addition to the new story mode, The Passing brings us a brand new Uncommon Infected, new maps for Survival, Scavenge and Versus and a mysterious new co-op mode. In addition, there will be a brand new firearm and a new melee weapon to up the zombie-smashing ante."

Personally, I wonder why it's called The Passing. Is it The Passing of the torch from one cast to the next? Are the two groups going to cross each other's path while passing each other? Will the original team pass away and die? Lots of questions to ask.

NSFW Wednesday: 'Left 4 Dead 2' Nick and Rochelle Get It On

Last week's video of strippers from The Saboteur was a big hit, so we're going to make NSFW videos a weekly thing here on The Hachiko. We proudly (or maybe shamefully) present to you NSFW Wednesdays. This week's installment features Left 4 Dead 2's Nick and Rochelle getting it on during the zombie apocalypse...with a little help from some sound file mixing.

'Left 4 Dead 2' - Fun With Sound Files

One of our most popular stories of all-time is the posting of a Left 4 Bed video, which used the sound files from the original Left 4 Dead to make it sound like two of the characters were getting pretty randy during the apocalypse. Well, it looks like the characters of Left 4 Dead 2 are just as frisky.

'Left 4 Dead 2' Reveals The Jockey

The sequel to the original Left 4 Dead is bringing to the table new survivors, new weapons, new levels, and even new infected. The latest "boss" infected is The Jockey, which was just revealed at PAX this weekend for the first time. The Jockey lets you attack lone Survivors and wrestle control of their movement away from them-into fire, off ledges, or straight into the middle of a zombie horde. You can find the first pic of The Jockey at the link provided.

Fans Boycotting 'Left 4 Dead 2'

When I heard there was a second Left 4 Dead coming out, I was thrilled as I'm a big fan of the original game. New characters to play as, handheld weapons like a chainsaw, and new scenarios to play. What could be wrong?

As it turns out, a fanboy can find anything to be angry about!

Valve Steam members are protesting and threatening to boycott the game, saying that Valve is pulling support of the original game too soon, and claiming there is no way possible for the second game to be ready in time without sucking. Here are their claims:

    * Significant content for L4D1 was promised, and never delivered
    * Valve put little faith in L4D1 since they almost certainly started working on L4D2 right after release
    * The fact that L4D2 is nearly identical to L4D1 will decimate the community for both games
    * The announced date is not nearly enough time to polish content or make significant gameplay changes
    * The new character designs seem bland and unappealing so far
    * L4D2 is too bright to fit in with L4D1's visual aesthetic
    * The fiddle-based horde music is extremely disliked, though the differently orchestrated music is otherwise welcome
    * L4D2's release will result in a drop in quality and frequency for L4D1 content, even compared to before
    * The community has lost faith in Valve's former reputation for commitment to their games post-release

Personally, it sounds like a bunch of whining to me. Points such as complaints about character design, music, and brightness of levels is all personal taste and opinion that Valve shouldn't care a lick about. Meanwhile, statements such as the release date not being enough time to polish the product is absurd, considering angry fans have no clue as to how long this game really has been in the works.

'Left 4 Dead' Inspires Francis Flavored Techno

Francis sure hates a lot of things in this fan created techno song made of a mishmash of sound clips from the game Left 4 Dead. You know what I hate...this song, because it's going to be stuck in my head all day long.

    'Left 4 Dead' DLC Coming

I love zombie blasting action. The only thing better than zombie blasting action? Even more zombie blasting action! If there's one complaint about Left 4 Dead it's that there isn't enough content as there are only four movies to play. Valve is working on DLC for the game and it looks like it will be at least one new movie. I'd enjoy that, but at least two movies or an extra weapon or something would top the cake for me.

'Left 4 Dead' Xbox 360 Hacking Includes Giant Zombies

I'd be really upset if someone used this to cheat or screw with my gameplay experience, but if I was with a bunch of buddies and wanting to fool around, being able to hack Left 4 Dead looks pretty fun. Check the video out to see all the hack possibilities there are for Left 4 Dead on the Xbox 360.

    'Left 4 Dead' (Xbox 360) – Review

I've always been fascinated with zombies, whether it's reading about them in comics such as The Walking Dead, watching movies like 28 Days Later (I consider them zombies in spirit), and playing games like Dead Rising. The latest zombie game in question – Left 4 Dead – is not only a great party game, but it's the closest you'll ever come to experiencing what it would really be like if zombies ruled the earth.

'Left 4 Dead' - Fun With Sound Files

We'll have a review of Left 4 Dead on Friday after Thanksgiving, but until then enjoy this skit that was put together featuring Bill and Louis from the game. It's a hilarious scenario that was put together using nothing but sound bytes from the game. Enjoy the comedy and come back Friday for a review of the game.

Will 'Left 4 Dead' Box Art Change?

I liked the original box art for Left 4 Dead, which had a hand with a missing thumb front and center on the box. However, apparently fans with way too much time on their hands, thought a better pun would be to have the hand on the box be a left-handed one. Get it? Left (hand) 4 (fingers) Dead (zombie hand on box).

Hey, what do you want from me? It's a slow news day.

    'Left 4 Dead' On Tour

Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Half-Life and Counter-Strike) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced a series of live demonstrations of Left 4 Dead at upcoming industry events the world over.

Left 4 Dead is the new survival co-op action game from Valve that blends the social entertainment experience of multiplayer games such as Counter-Strike and Team Fortress with the dramatic, narrative experience made popular in single player action game classics such as the Half-Life series of games.
